Hellen Kabahukya, a reporter with Solutions Now Africa in Uganda’s capital, Kampala, is a dedicated solution journalist. Her focal areas are women’s issues, minority rights, mental health, and climate change. Previously, she was a Communications officer at Mental and Reproductive Health Uganda, and later, she worked at Health Lifestyle Options, as Project and Programs developments for Children of Alcoholics and Drug Addicts. Her tenure at Arms Around Africa involved corporate communications and Project Management for a Mobile Play Area catering to children in low-cost communities. Within the same organization, she was pivotal as a Project lead for African girls forward, establishing clubs in schools. Additionally, Hellen contributed her expertise as a consultant with Strong Minds Uganda, where she developed concepts and radio spots aimed at mitigating depression among women and girls. Hellen is a graduate of Journalism and communications, and she is an award-winning student photojournalist. She has a certificate of multimedia journalism and storytelling with Media Challenge Initiative and also a certificate in digital story telling with the Ultimate Media Consult.
