Rodrigo Pérez Ortega is a journalist specializing in science, health and the environment. After completing his degree at the Universidad Autónoma de México (UNAM) in Biomedical Research with a specialization in neurosciences, he began his column “Sinapsis” in TecReview magazine. In 2016, he joined the founding team of Medscape en Español as Mexican correspondent and later, editor. In 2017, he was elected fellow of The Open Notebook, a specialized resource publication for scientific and environmental journalists. His work has appeared in The New York Times en Español, The Washington Post, Nature, Science, Science News, Knowable Magazine, The San Jose Mercury News, Inside Science, ¿Cómo ves?, and Hábitat Ciencia, among others.
