An M.D./Ph.D. in psychiatry and medical anthropology, Dr. Brandon Kohrt, a consultant to the Carter Center Mental Health Program’s Liberia Mental Health Initiative, is undertaking innovative mental health projects in developing countries including Nepal and Liberia. In Liberia, Dr. Kohrt has assisted in researching programs to reduce stigma and support family involvement in mental health care and recovery. Kohrt is on track to have a profound impact on mental health care for cross-cultural populations and improve training offered to young professionals in cross-cultural mental health.
